The term "Bitcoin Funnel" most often describes a fraudulent marketing scheme designed to steal money from unsuspecting investors. There is no legitimate, widely recognized "Bitcoin Funnel" company or service.
These schemes use a multi-stage process (a "funnel") to lure victims:
Scammers place online ads, often on social media like Facebook and Google, featuring fake celebrity endorsements and fabricated news stories promising immense wealth from "automated trading software".
Curious individuals who click the ads are directed to professional-looking websites where they are prompted to enter their contact information to access
the "software".
This personal information is sold as leads to call centers and unregulated brokers, some of whom are organized criminals.
Victims receive calls from smooth-talking "personal brokers" who pressure them to make an initial deposit of around $250, insisting the investment is legitimate and the returns are guaranteed.
The money is sent to unregulated or fake platforms. The promised software is a lie, and victims are unable to withdraw their funds. The scammers may even convince victims to invest more, sometimes their entire life savings.
